Little River, SC

Little River can truthfully say that George Washington slept here. He campaigned there on his way south during his Presidential tour of the South in 1791.

Before that, Captain Kidd, Blackbeard, and other notorious pirates sailed into Little River to rest up before continuing to rob and pillage the waters from North Carolina to the Caribbean.

Like these famous visitors, many of Little River’s newest residents first discover this quaint fishing village while on the way to somewhere else. Maybe they were headed north on Highway 17 to the seafood restaurants of Calabash, NC or south to visit the vast shopping and entertainment complexes of Myrtle Beach; or maybe they were traveling east to the Gulf Stream aboard one of Little River’s famed fishing boats.

Little River provides retires that rarest of commodities: a village community with a slow, easy way of life but within easy access to world-class amenities.

Many of those amenities are found right in beautiful downtown Little River. The Parson’s Table, a distinctive fine dining establishment located in a 19th century Methodist church, has been named the top historic restaurant in South Carolina along with being one of America’s Top 50 overall restaurants. The Heather Glen Golf Links and Glen Dornoch Waterway Golf Links have been named one of Golf Digest’s 1990 Top 50 Public Golf Courses in America.

Little River also is home to Las Vegas style casino gambling boats where locals and tourists alike flock to the waterfront for world class gambling excursions into international waters.
